AASHTO Designation: M 297-98 (2006) pdf free download

AASHTO M 297-98 (2006) is identical to ASTM D 3542-92 (2003) except for the following provisions:

1.In Table 1 of ASTM D 3542-92 (2003), “Low-temperature recovery, 72 hat l4°F (-l4°C), 50%:” should read as follows:

“Low-temperature recovery, 72 hat 14°F (-10°C), 50 percent:”

2.2. In Table 1, ASTM Test Method for Recovery Requirements, change Section 7D to Section 8.2D.

3.3. Replace the last sentence of Section 5.1 of ASTM D 3542-92 (2003) with the following:

“The relationship of a seal’s height to its depth is significant to its performance.

Thus, the height shall be as agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier.”

4.Insert the following sentence after the first sentence of Section 5.2.1 of ASTM D 3542-92 (2003):

“The purchaser shall specify the movement range, anticipated maximum joint opening, and the target nominal width of seal.”

5.The last two sentences of Section 5.2.3 of ASTM D 3542-92 (2003) are not included in M 297-98 (2006).
